You can save money by using ADS natural ventilation systems!

ADS have recently been awarded a contract to install natural ventilation systems into numerous ASDA Cold Distribution Centres nationwide. An extensive desktop study was carried out to assess the values of the natural ventilation system being used to control the internal temperature and humidity inside each building. The system needs to allow air to flow through the building to prevent overheating and condensation.

It was agreed that the natural ventilation system would far outweigh the powered ventilation system that was previously being used to allow air to move through the building and prevent stagnant /stale air. The natural ventilation system is designed to allow heat that builds up from the refrigeration equipment to leave the building at high level with replacement air entering through the wall units.

For an initial investment to complete the works, it was calculated that by reducing the need for fans, air movement products and the energy required; that the system would have paid for itself and saved money in a short period of time.

The system comprises of roof mounted ventilation terminals and wall mounted units. Each terminal / unit has an internal uPVC insulated damper to the rear with a modulating motor to regulate the flow of air into the building. ADS have also provided a full control system including electrical wiring, containment, control panels, sensors and commissioning of the system. The control system is designed to automatically operate the ventilators on pre-set temperatures and humidity levels. The system also integrates a night time cooling operation to reduce the internal temperature overnight.
